Thanks for the replies. I'll have to scout the ever living shit out of the area I'm allowed to harvest the bull in, and hit the distances that i could be poking a moose at. From there I'll pick the suitable rifle. I won't go home empty handed as this could be the last moose draw I'll ever get in this area.

I have a 300wm but it's a target rifle and weights 12 pounds dry but I'll keep it in mind.

Are calling moose hard? does the rut really fuck their brains up? I've been watching lots of guys on youtube showing how to call in moose but I don't want to mess it up.

Perhaps Ill document my learning as I go and keep /k/ in the loop? would you guys like that?
