I've returned home and of course I didn't find the time or energy to write about anything I promised to write about. I have so much to unpack both literally and figuratively.

I did have one kind of unpleasant experience where dreams and reality seemed to merge for a while. This was on the last night. I dreamed that I had been in a shrine complex that - to the best of my knowledge - doesn't really exist. I also dreamed I had received something extremely important from there, a kind of architechtural model, that I had however forgotten to a hotel room. I woke up in a profound state of confusion and anxiety, feeling a strong sense of there being a presence in the room. It took me some effort to recall that I hadn't been to such a place, and I had not received such things.

Beyond that, I do have to say that Shingon ideas are very appealing and taking part in the practice at Koyasan made me much more interested in it.

I also have discovered someone who says there were threads similar to these much, much, much earlier on /jp/, like in the early 2010s. I'm trying to get more information from them.

Yes, there is at least one claimed case of this. I dont know the details myself. I presume the sigils can be used like votive objects while making offerings and prayers.

You might be "dense", or you might not be looking in the right places, or you might need different methods. Try a straight up devotional aproach or studying mythology.
