Trans kids often start out as socially awkward because they're getting social messages that conflict with their true identity

They learn that they can't trust their instincts if they want to avoid social friction. So they do their best to mimic the role everyone expects them to fill, but it comes off as insincere and weird because it's forced.

If parents, teachers, siblings etc. didn't try to force them into a mold they won't ever fit then they'd be well adjusted girls.
