The director suck ass. They made the monster "artsy" by adding flowers or puppet features but those shit are not "scary" because it is over the top. It can't even be considered body horror due to how ridiculous it looks. Now compare this to a classic SH monster like the Twins. It creepy, the design evokes body horror because it's a bird shaped creature but with humanoid features and the movements are all unnatural.
