>Joseph Gardner and two accomplices lured 25 year old Melissa McLauchin to their North Charleston, South Carolina home in 1992, raped, and strangled her, dumping her body by the roadside. McLauchin was walking home intoxicated from a nightclub when they accosted her. It was an ironic end considering that she had once starred in a child safety PSA in her native Wixom, Michigan after a series of child murders there.
