No, warzone actually attractive anomalies such as spirits and monsters. Spirits obviously because of the sheer amount of death occuring so quickly in a concentrated area, and ghoulish creatures come out to feed on the decaying flesh of soldiers killed in action.
Most people don't believe in ghosts stories, so they seldom gain attention, and monsters know to avoid larger groups of armed people; when they kill nobody knows about it except the victims.
