You don't even need to be a good writer. What you need is cool characters doing cool shit.
Genshin is purposefully inoffensive with little to no edge anywhere when it comes to the playable characters. Which automatically kills any chance of them being cool.
Every single character is lame and gay by default. Even if they have good designs.
