arthur was really weird about kids not really acting their age
these kids here (also part of the tough customers group which I forgot entirely there was more than just binky, molly, slink and rattles) are in the 4th fucking grade though they look like middle schoolers easily
though in all fairness, pretty much all cartoons with children have this issue, they're always acting or talking like they're about 5 years or so older than they should be
seriously kids under 5th grade are barely coherent
doesn't help too that more and more kid characters are voiced by adults that barely make an effort to sound younger
