I disagree. He played it perfectly. You wanted him to ham it up and beat you over the head with what Bond felt in that scene when his subtle facial expressions did the trick perfectly.

Me too. In an ideal world, no one who's American would get anywhere near a Bond movie if they're not playing an American character. They should always be European productions at heart.
