For the most past we aren't luddites, toying around it is fine but using generated shit for end products is lame and gay. I am convinced most UGCfags just AI generate horribly optimized models and run it through a decimate modifier so it actually fits the tri limit. You can notice this when you look at fine details becoming very blocky. This is also a phenomenon on those oldtroon LARP hairdos that try to imitate the scene hair(s) but they fail miserably because they don't look at it being made out of a bunch of floating meshes instead of a high density sphere randomly dragged out to create "spikes".
