You also in Mouse's case can get pings when people @ you which is what that anon was implying. But Mouse seems to only have Monke in her chatterino now. She might have others but aren't vip in their chats to see. If you ever see someone seemingly permanently in someone's chat list even when offline it is likely they are using chatterino. For example I'm pretty sure both Mei and Sai use it.
