No, the media went way WAY softer on the Republicans this time. They no longer called them hitler, they no longer screamed about dictatorship. In fact they were quite understated and even conciliatory. It's a difficult thing to get a measure on, and everyone forgets about it after the moment passed. But I definitely remember that. I think you're very bought in and not seeing things neutrally.
