The morality play is a routine to keep those of lower status in perpetual servitude.
One of the things that made me realise this is that the Christian nations in the past revere a book that states that rich men cannot enter heaven and pride is a sin and yet they were ruled by prideful kings that would have you drawn and quartered for mocking them. It perfectly explains why the Aztecs committed human sacrifice to such an extent and ruled the other Mexican civilizations through fear of violence under the pretence they were performing a service to their gods.
