>y-you had to go back to the 1980s!!
Nice backpedaling cope, rofl. And yeah, you’re goddamn right I did, because Dragon Ball set the bar SO high decades ago that the only way to match Demon Slayer's so-called "record" is to go up in history, not down

You said 'name another anime that hit 21' and and when I did, multiple times, now it's suddenly 'w-well TV is different now!!' Cope, you loser. I accept your concession that Demon Slayer didn't break any historical records, because it's literally been done before. And better, without modern tech and social media.
>Where most people stopped watching TV
Exactly. Which makes relying on viewership ratings in 2020s all the more irrelevant as a benchmark of franchise dominance. Thank you for proving your own metric is a shallow flex.

By your own admission:
>TV is dying
>Streaming dominates
>Global relevance is measured through multi-platform success (merch, film, streaming, gaming, licensing)

And on that front:
>Demon Slayer peaked in 2020–2021 and is declining
>MHA is still active, still expanding, entering Hollywood, and still monetizing globally
If ratings are harder now and streaming + IP deals are what matter more, well, Demon Slayer sure as hell ain't getting Legendary Pictures money or global live-action franchises, is it?

BTW, just for fun, did you know Dragon Ball Kai (you know, that 2009 rerun of a 1989 anime with no new plot, no viral trailers, and zero pandemic boost) averaged 9.4% viewership?

Its peak ep hit 12.3%. That's higher than every single Demon Slayer episode ever aired, except for the Mugen Train rebroadcast, lol.
