it's also kinda crazy to think about that a 1998 pre-alpha build of half life 2 exists somewhere out there still on goldsource with like placeholder models and everything from half life 1 since they've started making progress towards on the next game just 6 months after the original half life released, same thing about tf2 and its like almost finished goldsource incarnation in a form of a tactical strategy-like shooter that they fully scrapped in favour of the gritty/half-life 2 esque grimey alien aesthetic at first and then the final semi-realistic impressionistic cartoony style that they've eventually settled on, i used to watch and have a lot of cool half life related facts and trivia videos at my fingertips but i kinda gave up on waiting for things to happen here and cool people appearing ever and so i gave up all these videos too and they got erased from my immediate memory so i don't have too much to share unfortunately but i still remember all these cool facts at least
