a bit of light gunsmithing to customize your weapons is fine, stalker 2 basically got that part right
I think the cooking system from the scalie game is pretty nice too, very light, basically just makes food items restore more if you cook them, it's comfy

I really love the food mechanic in the scalie game.
When you take damage it lowers your maximum health and maybe applies bleed and other status effects. You need meds to unfuck your health bar but your actual regen is determined by food.

There's various ingredients you can gather around the place, and some campfires you can light to cook them up to increase their food value.
Really immersive and comfy.
