It's really weird, too, because Sasuke goes on to create his Taka team in part 2 which is made up of former henchmen/slaves of Orochimaru. Kishimoto could have easily let some of the sound 4/5/6 members live and join Sasuke.
I mean, none of them have healing or sensing abilities, so they can't replace Karin, but Suigetsu and Jugo's powers aren't all that relevant. They could've easily been replaced by any of the goons from this arc, or hell, even Dosu.
