Indeed the US economy turned unsustainable under Reagan already (and it was all shaky since 1973-75), and except for a brief and mostly illusionary improvement under Clinton it has been unsustainable ever since, and now it has been made dangerously unsustainable with one fell stroke.

But whether Putin's apparent plan to create so much unbacked liquidity that Russia is suddenly devalued by one-third would bail out the US from the BBB is to be seen. It is basically US and RF in a tug of war about whose fiscal policy can be more insane.
The EU approves, China is mega happy, even Japan is A-OK with it, but they won't show it ofc.
