Hulk Hogan is more than just a man, more than just an entertainer, more than just a wrestler. He was the closest thing we had to a real life superhero. He was Superman come to life. He was the incarnation of Uncle Sam, the hopes and dreams of all Americans, the strength to endure, to fight back against oppression and tyranny, to endure the most hellish of storms, to see and conquer, to fight for justice and freedom. He WAS America. It’s so disheartening to hear he’s gone. In spite of everything, I always admired and respected him. It’s a terribly sad day but this is the usual “passing of the torch” that happens so much in wrestling. We’ll take all the love and wisdom he gave us and carry the torch with us.
