i don't view the talmud as authoritative, but your assessment is wholly divorced from reality. if anything, the talmud adds more and more layers of law, more and more rules to follow in addition to the ones seen in the torah. it's to give rabbis jobs and purpose for the most part. for instance you might not know about mezuzah checkers, you pay them 5 to 10 thousand dollars to go through and make sure each mezuzah is installed at the correct height and angle, all rooms are covered, and that each scroll has perfect calligraphy. if there is even one small mistake this is considered an invalid mezuzah. karaites recognize that the expression to display them (the laws of the torah) in your gates is not literal. (deut 6 for reference).
i think it's wrong, as in it's incorrect, and it's also a sin to add to or take away from God's torah. but your assessment of what it is informed solely by /pol/ infographics.
