He's always flew close to the sun. As close as possible in the zeitgeist. I think him breaking with Tony was more of a PR move than an ideological one. Him and Tony reconciled anyway and did a Nada! tour a few years back (one of their best albums)
It's not everyone's cup of tea granted but I personally enjoy their music.
