Red Ranger In Another World
I'll be the first to admit: the ART STYLE of the manga is superior, though in a way that really never could have made the jump to animation. But the anime is the superior way to experience the story overall, because its the same medium as what the references are based on.
It's no secret that Red Ranger is based on toku shows, most directly sentai. The manga does a good job referencing those tropes in a 2d form, but what they were referencing was audiovisual in nature. The anime went above and beyond in bringing those references back to life in the way that they were always meant to be. No matter how good the manga is, you know what it can't do? Give Kizuna 5 (the ranger squad that the MC is from) their own theme song that plays during appropriate moments. It can't have the flashbacks to his time as a ranger fighting kaijin have fun little details like episode titles getting cut off in scene transition, implying that it really is literally a show. Stuff like that.
