So I need to ask: who the fuck is mac gaming for?
No, really, who the fuck is Apple paying for these ports for?
Because when I think about it, the demographic line-up just doesn't make sense
>It's for MacOS users!
Okay, there's only 3 types of Mac users:
digital casuals (MacBook Air users mainly, they glaze over when they have to trouble shoot any electronics issue)
creatives (like the high-performance on creative software and ease of use)
and professionals (devs and email jobs like the high performance on IDEs and compilers and office suite)
None of these groups like to play games except for devs, and they only use macs because they're provided by work. Otherwise, all other MacOS users are only playing multiplayer social games (Minecraft, rocket league, WoW, fortnite) or FOTM (balatro, vampire survivors). 99% of all mac users are not going to ever spend more than $5 on a video game upfront.
>It's to attract gamers to MacOS
lol
lmao even
Gamers are not going to pay premium for a professional/creative UX-friendly device that performs worse per dollar than a mid-range tower or console.
I seriously have NO idea who these ports are for? Are they just a vanity project for Apple? Do they make investors happy at the prospect of taking a bigger bite out of the gaming market (despite Apple's absolute dominance in microtransactions on mobile)?
