>elimination
I used to think these were necessary and good for the show, but after some serious thought and looking back on several situations I can say with confidence that they have NEVER had a positive impact on the show as a whole or in the long run. It changes the chemistry of the tank so drastically that it can ruin the next several days and potentially ruin an entire season (though it's hard to say if that has happened yet, since that's a hypothetical we cant parse)
There is a very simple way to restructure the show so that you dont have to remove energy from the tank and fill it with freeloaders to replace it
>big challenges earn Goldstriker points
>secret missions earn Goldstriker points
>creating "content" earns goldstriker points
>these points are tracked in the basement, displayed on the site, and each fish is told directly, individually when they earn them and why but not their total count, which is up to them to keep track of (as well as keeping track of other fish's for competitive purposes)
>in the final week of the season, the top few fish who have a close range of Goldstriker points become the finalists, be it 2, 3, or 4. Their points are equalized and they fight it out in the final guantlet
>remaining fish who didnt make the cut take the roles of NPCs ala s2 Swamp Olympics or act as grunts for finalist fish in team battles, where they can continue to earn fishbucks for helping their finalist fish or doing well in their NPC role
>winner fish is the one who does the best in challenges. Simple as.
With this system, you will have properly kept and "rigged" the game for contentfish like freddy or alexb, while also making sure they have to earn it against good at challenges fish like tj was. One of the reasons people disliked tj as the winner of s2 was because they felt he didnt earn a spot in the finalists. I'm not gonna say yey or ney to that, but what he was for sure was good at the actual competition.
This makes sure the final deserve it
