My ankles pop literally hundreds of times a day. Basically every time I get up it's crack, crack, crack for several steps. I just stood up and did 4 calf raises, left ankle popped 4 times and right twice. They've been like this since I was around 13, doesn't hurt at all, no difference between times when I've been really active and fit and when I've been slacking and put on weight.
