I thought it was obvious the minimap wasn't supposed to exist in palaces until you found a piece of the map. Make the player actually case the joint they're about to rob. Give them a map in pieces, or better yet only near the end, but at least make them have to navigate the mind-dungeon on feel alone for a little while. Have the player actually hone their own phantom thief instincts, even a little bit.
They aren't even mazes, just fancy looking corridors. Its not that much to ask.
I may not be as smart or attentive as I think I am, but damn Im not as stupid as the devs think I am.
