Only other big bit of advice is find spots with good ingame lighting. A lot of instances have some good light pouring through windows that's softer and more diffuse than the gpose lights which tend to be very harsh. The person criticising 3-point isn't wrong in saying relying on those can be awful.
Colour temperature is another big one. Try to decide beforehand if you want warm or cool temperature in your image and stick with it, but cold lighting on a warm/cozy image can look wrong or sterile for example. Most XIV stuff probably wants to be warmly lit, but not always.

You're still playing to 3-point lighting and its goals, though. But to not be overly dickish as I know I've come across that way, here's my general setup if I have to use the ingame gpose lights to achieve a 3 point effect. Distance and the strength of the lights is vital and it takes a lot of tweaking.
