I don't know if this works in MP or not, but what I usually do against AI is

>shoot scimitar like 10-20 degrees to the right of them
>shoot another 10-20 degrees to the left
That way it's coming from two different directions so you can't notch both at the same time. I get rid of my externals ASAP so reduce my radar signature and then play a bit more carefully with my internals
