The "rainbow" effect is because of how the color broadcast was done
It was 30 frames per second, but a filter would rotate in front of the film to only record one color at once, resulting in 10 color frames per second
When something is relatively motionless, the frames overlap and you get color.
When something was moving fast, the colors on the frames would be out of sync, resulting in the rainbow.
