Ukraine is heading for a major government shake-up: Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal is expected to become the new Defense Minister, replacing Rustem Umerov, who is set to take up the post of ambassador to the U.S., according to MP Yaroslav Zhelezniak. Education Minister Oksen Lisovyi is also being dismissed, with no replacement named yet. Oleksii Soboliev will take over as Minister of Economy, and the Minister of Social Policy is also being replaced.

If Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko is removed, his position will be filled by Svitlana Hrynchuk. In addition, the Ministry of Reintegration is slated for liquidation as part of the broader restructuring.
