meh, the Saudis and Russia have been pumping a shitload of funds into "making friends" around these parts, and they're one of multiple interest groups in this place
granted we do not all share the same IQ so there'll always be a bunch of expandables that have had an intentional cushy life organized for them so they will push for measures that will end up working against their best interests at a later date
these interest groups have lots of money to spend and can go around interfering or making contact with people that even the government would be too outstretched to check upon
