I thought it was fine if a bit cheesy. It's leagues better than what the industry is like now.
It was the last time that there was any real life in the Western gaming industry and while most dudebro games are hit-or-miss with me, I can appreciate them for being decent enough single player experiences and great multiplayer experiences. Plus, I do miss when hot women were part of the marketing for games and consoles. Not even Japan does that anymore outside of hot anime/vidya chicks.
I can understand where the older dudes that liked Tech TV are coming from, but it's objectively true that we've been in a steep decline (in many respects) ever since the 7th gen, which is honestly the last gen where the games were worthwhile enough to cover and had teams full of passionate programmers working on them often enough.
