I hate how in order for an MMO to survive in 2025 it has to be analogous with basically being a virtual social media.
FFXIV and WOW are the two main MMOs and there is basically no way for another MMO to come out that penetrates that space unless it does something obscenely novelty.

Maybe this is just generational old-man-ness but I miss when I could go to RageZone and there was always some cool MMO coming out or that was already out and getting a private server implementation. I miss how excited I was to play Trickster Online or FlyFF or Mabinogi every day after classes but nothing gives me that feeling anymore.
