The problem is that everything inevitably progresses to the other stages with time. The community can try to gatekeep as much as they want, but companies want money, they don't care about the source of that money, and what they need to do to get it.
You can try a more obscure hobby like old and mostly forgotten tabletop RPGs or vydia that few people know nowadays, but it comes with the disadvantage that it's hard to find people to talk about it and discuss the hobby with you.
