As we become adults we are taught to mask our emotions, sometimes through words. Other times our need for validation is beat into submission, but not erased. We all have those base needs yet they can't all be met ; we have deemed a world that accepts this as the real world ; the child's world is false ; the adult must worry about survival. They must be impersonal, hardened, like a slave or soldier.
Survival does not seem like a choice, 'what sane person would opt out of all societal expectations just to live honestly?' You might ask. If my honesty scares you, I don't blame you. In a world that will kill, starve or imprison you for doing whatever you want, living honestly has radical implications.
We are the only animals that lie, but make no mistake, the idea that we are not all primitive is a lie. No amount of deflection will change our child-like need for validation. It is a fact that will follow us outside the bounds of this thread, and this board. It will find you in places my words could never reach.
