Void survivor is based on Amiga games so it's kinda limited to 32 'bright' colours.

But see pic rel. That's my attempt at mimicing shareware PC 640x480 16 colour VGA from 1993-1994 era of Shareware. It's 'getting' there but it's not yet 'it'.
