I disagree with you completely. If the adult supervises at every corner, such as holding the child by the shoulders when rounds are dispersed, limiting ammunition and teaching good practice like not pointing a barrel at somebody, even with an empty chamber. One of the best experiences I had was shooting at 5. It gets you out into nature and makes you appreciate the little things from early on, it taught me good trigger discipline and NEVER to flag anybody you’re hunting with before I was even 10, which is something most humans never learn at all. It bonds you to the person who took you out.
Just don’t be a retard and leave your safe at home unlocked, glocks on the kitchen bench or ammo everywhere.
There is a BIG difference between responsibly taking a child out to a range with proper supervision, and leaving guns all over the place unsupervised with children around. A BIG difference.
