I hated him at first but he grew on me. In a pinch, you can act as the crystal-sitter if you have a dedicated healer feeding you HP, but it's all situational and can feel pretty ass since you'll have to trust them, which is somewhat hard to do with randoms. Try asking high rankers from your home region how they handle high ping if you can somehow get their ear, most people who are actually good at the game mode are more than willing to help people learn and overcome specific obstacles like that.
