Did you answer, or ask why she wants to know?
That situation sounds like it could have been a real opportunity for you! Because sex-workers are still people and thus have lives/desires/etc, and so she might have been angling towards something. For example, she might have been considering working there and wants to know some details. You could give her the details, and she would be thankful, and you might get free sex. Or maybe you could volunteer to be her first customer that she can practice on, and get free sex. Free sex!
There's stories on forums like punterplanet and talkinsex that are like this. One I recall was a bloke seeing a travelling asian doing FS in a massage parlor, and during a session she asked what he was up to on the weekend. He said he was thinking of driving out of town for the weekend, going to winery etc, but didn't have anyone to go with. Long story short, he ended up taking her and paying for food/sex/accommodation, and got constant sex as a reward!

>It's not OK to bring women into the county to traffic them, that is slavery.
I don't know how much that actually happens DESU. There's a cheap asian around the corner from me, and she's been lived in 2 apartments over the last 6 years. So, cheap doesn't necessarily mean "slave".
Similarly some might come over willingly/voluntarily to do sex work, but perhaps under false pretenses (or not). That's not really different to Pacific Islanders coming over to work on farms and make money, but then get charged for food+accomodation+travel+PPE etc, and thus don't really earn what they should.
Backpackers that work 3 months or whatever to get their 2nd year visa face similar issues, in that they get housed in tin sheds, pocket nothing after "fees", and get sexually harassed by the farmers.
