I've been reading this book on intuitive eating. I want to say that it's retarded, but surprisingly, only about 40% of it is retarded. see, the HAES fatties, whose denial of reality furnishes their masturbatory sense of self worth, deliberately misinterpret the fundamental tenets of this approach. the book effectively says
>hey fatty, you should develop an intuition for only eating as much as you need in any given day; eat until you're full and no more
>don't deny yourself any particular food; indulge, while also monitoring how you feel and ensuring that you're not overeating by not stuffing yourself past the point of being full
>if you take this advice as carte blanche to eat whatever the fuck you want, at any time, without compromise, then you are flagrantly abusing the tenets of this system
there are reasons why one may not agree with this approach, primarily because it's less rooted in science and more about addressing the poor eating habits of the food addict or other mentally ill types, but I can't see any problem with the initial logic of, "just eat until you're full, don't deny yourself food because it'll only make you psychologically crave the foods you can't have even more, and maybe stop obsessing about weight loss because you're clearly mentally ill and not in a position to think about this problem clearly"
I ain't finished with the book though, maybe it's more retarded than I realize, and it has said a few things I've disagreed with, but I have walked away from it thus far with the position that delusional fatties will twist anything to adhere to their crazy worldview and justify their denial of reality.
