Pinga is able to crunch a PNG file into its smallest lossless state and do it pretty quickly even on an older CPU, like the 4th gen i7 laptop I'm using atm.
The other culprit for filesize bloat is usually uncompressed audio, needlessly high bitrate audio that even Blu-Ray films wouldn't do.
