I never abandon work,merely refocus my efforts. Anything that makes it out of my head onto media is a win and the lessons learned from its creation reason enough to justify its existence.

But some projects just eat time,like this one. I drew the figures first,liked how they came out so I tucked a background around them,an excuse to imagine that castle with its prow poking like a penis at the camera. It began in pencil, and I decided to use black gel ink pen to darken spots and bring out details. But I had to arbitrarily call it finished just so the other 20 hours of polishing can be devoted to new projects.
