The reason his book ended up like that is BECAUSE he is a Mormon. It's all basically a reflection of his personally held beliefs in conjunction with his false counterfeit "Christian" faith who was quite literally created by a retard who got conned into it by Demons.
Look further into it if you really want to know, Joseph Smith basically claims to have been visited by an "Angel" called Mormoni who gave him some stone tablets with hieroglyphs on it that basically twist Christianity into some weird demonic shit where they claim God has celestial sex with hundreds of thousands of women up in the sky, and we are the products of said intercourse, and that, because of that, we too have the 'potential' to become Gods ourselves upon passing away, which will lead to us also owning planets that we can basically 'rule' over. Also, Mormons believe Satan and Jesus were brothers, lmao.
Either way, point is, as much as I heard him at times drone on about how Christian values should be used more in stories, along with other insane drivel, he adds none of those to the stuff he makes, if anything, he just writes shit that gratifies sinful behavior and violence more than just portraying it in its raw nature that actually gets people to consider being against it.
Also, he's basically very arrogant and prideful and clearly wants personal attention and recognition instead of just creating something that could stand on its own without requiring him to get kissed in the ass for it. And it's retarded because he somehow thinks he can just "off-load" all that by being a "good person" by sticking to Mormon rulesets that says shit like how you're not allowed to drink coffee and never should either and just morally grandstanding over others.
