They didn't. Soviet architecture, soviet statues, soviet posters are still in the game. Literally the only thing they did is remove soviet state symbols.

I won't be able to see a hammer and sickle when walking through the ruins of a soviet city or exploring an abandoned soviet factory. Literally unplayable.
