I already discovered the joys of diatomaceous earth. That stuff is so fine and sharp it literally makes your blood itch for half an hour after. If they're really daft enough to try this with chitin it may have a similar affect that'll allow you to know if you got it or not. It's extra bad if such a thing is the cause of the razor blade throat, because you'll have razor blade lungs too, and that shit never heals.
