Sanji probably took inspiration from the knight as well. Shanks and Romeo. The rivalry between Ryuma the samurai and Romeo the knight.

When you think about how Sanji is now armor skinned, always went by Mr. Prince like a fairy tale hero, his new powerup is flame armor, he had an armored suit, and he was put in the knight helmet as a kid, there's a chance he was based off Romeo from the early iterations.

Which is funny because another iteration had him as a gun slinging cowboy named Naruto.

Also it's funny because Shanks was always planned to be a knight.
