As the presentation started, you noted that it wasn't headed by some scientific Darwin-like guy, but an old adventurer in naval uniform.

He, along with some of his colleagues (a priest and a few others who seemed more like stereotypical scientists), introduced themselves as the Mundul Expeditionary group— consisting of a priest, two scientists, and the already mentioned adventurer.

The adventurer was Commodore Mattias Percy— bombastic war veteran, politician, and anthropologist— who claimed to be one of the leaders in the Westphalian expedition that made Oceanippon 'open it's ports to trade with the world', boasting about his usage of gunboat diplomacy. You glanced at Ayane, but she seemed to have a completely nonplussed and business-like politeness plastered on her face— likely meaning that she didn't think anything positive of the man.

As for the priest, he was apparently known in the academic circles as Friar Gregorios— was a native Archipelegean. The priest had his slave-wife at his side— Theoresia, a rather scrawny looking mouse woman with large ears, round glasses, and a lab coat— who acted as his assistant and first wife. Both Master-husband and slave-wife spoke of their findings in genetics and their research on beastfolk and demi-humans.

A couple other nondescript scientists followed along alongside the three, but these seemed more like the 'follower' types that always went along with what others said.

You wondered how so many people lecturing an audience would work.

In short— it didn't.

The entire presentation was a mess from start to finish, with some of the speakers cutting off one another and sometimes even going as far as arguing in the middle of it. Despite the chaos they were still able to make a (mostly) comprehensible lecture on the topic.
