I get it, I have my own I like to complain about, like the fact that computers come loaded with a bunch of spyware and marketing gimmicks and annoying proprietary restrictions. I don't think he needed to in this video since it's just his complaints and observations but I just think it's important to point out that it's not the machines' fault. If you are an alien and watched this video, you would think that the machines are the autonomous subjects driving human history and we are just objects for them to act upon. Like all these pointless devices just appeared one day and we are hopeless to stop them. And really there is something like that acting upon us, it's just not the machines, it's the wider relations in society that are made up of us all and yet have wills of their own and make us do things and appear as natural laws. Like the compulsion for businesses to always reduce costs and increase revenue to expand or just to stay afloat, which compels businesses to come up with these pointless technologies, because they aren't really pointless, it's just that the point is to reduce costs/increase revenue rather than meeting a want/need. Like those self-service kiosks and online menus that wring out far more money from customers by using the dark patterns/nudging techniques. I thought the last video was wrong because the creator really went into the other direction to the point of moralistically promoting less technology because of the inferior morality/spirituality/soul of machines and products made by machines, when that's not the problem. The machines aren't cold, calculating and inhumane, the society is. Thanks for reading my thoughts
