Once you're past the initial tangle of hallways and directories that make up the data storage area, you reach several larger rooms. The ceilings are higher here, and the first one you enter is the perfect place to stage an ambush or siege against your group. Fortunately, it's abandoned. It seems to just be a large block of empty storage space, with an elevator leading up to a balcony that takes up the second half of the room. The rest of the partition is beyond it. You go upstairs without issue, finding several more rooms like this, all with plenty of side paths. You stop seeing the 'Archives' signs first. Then a while later, you stop seeing 'Habitats'.
Your journey is interrupted by urgent chatter from your comms.
[This is Ryan! Help! Need anyone near our position to pull us out!]
[Where are you?] Wind asks.
[Still in the Archives! The Wild Digimon crawled in here! They're shredding everything and eating the bots!]
[You serious?! What a day for that...]
[It makes sense, really.] Squid replies.
[How?]
[Normally, hungry Digimon don't go running into partitions. Some will use empty ones to travel to the surface, but they don't have a reason to enter a guarded one. These guys, though? They just watched a boatload of snacks—you guys—sail into a data center. Easy to figure out that you're going to be messing with the guards inside.]
[So they're looking for scraps?]
[Exactly!]
Ryan screams again, and Wind swears loudly.
[I'll be right there. Coming from the Habitats.]
You try and listen out for the sound of violence, but you hear nothing. It must be too far down. You've managed to race up here faster than the others.
"Let's just go for the core." You say.
