The fact is that most Americans were Christians and Christians shunned slavery, and for that reason it was entirely banned in Europe, so the jews needed to "flee persecution" of their business practices to the New World.
The entire slave trade was jewish too, they learned it from their arab brothers who were the first to buy black slaves from African warlords.
